Tim Dusina- Chief Technical Operations Officer

Tim Dusina brings years of technical management experience to VDL-5 Technologies; bringing a well rounded insight and understanding of military equipment and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) including integration with vehicle diagnostics, parts ordering systems, and other third party systems.

Tim is a retired Disabled Iraqi Freedom Veteran who served in the US ARMY. As a Motor Sergeant, Tim Dusina has vast experience in managing motor pool facilities and maintenance teams across the globe. His leadership skills have been forged through extensive military training and while under combat conditions. Tim has supervised and managed many work crews over the years. His teams have maintained some of the most sophisticated tactical truck groups the US.ARMY has to offer. Under Tim’s leadership and through hard work and ability to share his extensive knowledge of motor pool operations, he and his crews earned many outstanding performance awards.

On the civilian side, Tim has extensive industrial and technology maintenance experience, specializing in electro-mechanical technologies and related troubleshooting, programming of logistic controllers, PMCS and parts ordering for various types of production equipment. His varied experience and skills have given him a unique insight into the development of technical publications including both troubleshooting and maintenance tasks. Not only does he develop the technical materials but Tim has also worked with various authoring systems used to develop those materials into actual printed or electronic maintenance manuals.

At VDL-5 Technologies Tim has led and managed authoring teams empowering them to utilize authoring environments such as EMS-2 and EMS NG to create everything from Operator, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Schematics, Parts Lists, Computer Based Training (CBT), and Instructor Led Training (ILT). Tim’s responsibilities also include program start-up tasks such as setting up Excel Project Tracking spread sheets, assigning appropriate team personnel, updating Project status using a comprehensive Project Management Database and project oversight to ensure that budget and delivery targets are met. Tim also provides a unique sounding board for creative problem solving to forge solutions that avoid fiscal and budget impact to his programs.
